The Falcon Cannot Hear the Falconer
Blackhaine, Julian-Jakob Kneer, Arthur Marie, Marie Matusz, Hannah Rose Stewart, Lukas Stöver

COUNCIL+, Berlin (curation Tim Rosenbaum)

The title draws inspiration from W.B. Yeats' poem "The Second Coming", written in 1919. This choice resonates with the collective theme of shielding oneself from the outer world by delving into identity, egocentricity, and narcissism. These themes often unfold against a backdrop of alienation, encapsulating the desire for protection and safety exter-nalized through a recentering of oneself.

The artists share an interest in motives that appear to isolate external influences by creating a space that feels distant. Materialism in their work serves as a dual force - a protective barrier and a revealing form - breaking through to expose the vulnerability and isolation inherent in their exploration.
